40 years of The Internet World Wide Web

The possibility of the internet has been around longer than most of probably know. However, the internet that we know really didn't gain popularity until the 1990's. And even in the 1990's it was quite a bit different, much more simpler than what we have today.

I run many types of tests, scans, projections, stats, etc. online. Some are pretty decent and accurate, while others are not so accurate and more along the lines of just for fun.

This one I recently did was kind of funny. The site must have been messing up because it usually works fairly well.

It gave me the following warning:

This url may be deleted. We have been unable to get information from it since January 1st, 1970 (40 years, 4 months and 9 days ago).

Holly Cow...the internet really has been around since 1970! And looking for my domain name too!

My domain obviously didn't even exist in 1970. Nor did the internet as we know it. Most likely it is related to Unix Time or other computing time messing up. It is fairly common to see a 1969 or 1970 time stamp.

Still it is kind of funny to see a message or warning like this.
