Tutorial

If you use Google Adsense ads on your Dolphin 7 website you might consider section targeting. Basically you just add a little snippet of code that tells Google you would like more emphasis on certain area of your page. Targeting specific content, text, and areas of your page it can help Google show more relevant ads.

You will need to have enough content on the particular page along with good seo page titles, keywords, h1/h2/h3 tags, and that kind of thing.

There is also no guarantee that it will help at all, but the code is so small that it really is worth trying.

After adding the code to Dolphin 7, you will want to clear your administration template cache to make sure the changes show up and Google can see them.

You should also allow at least 30 minutes and preferably test for several days.

You can visit Google for more information on the subject here:
What is section targeting and how do I implement it?

You simply add the following code before and after the content or area of a page that you want to target:
<!-- google_ad_section_start -->

<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

You can also designate sections you'd like to have ignored by adding a (weight=ignore) to the starting tag:
<!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) -->

Example with targeting:
<!-- google_ad_section_start -->

Your main Dolphin 7 article, blog, or other page content would be here.

<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

Example with ignore:
<!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) -->

Some irrelevant page content would be here.

<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

Example with Dolphin 7 Articles
/modules/boonex/articles/templates/base/list.html

Find:

__date__&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
<bx_text:_articles_txt_comments />: __comments__&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
<bx_text:_articles_txt_categories />: <bx_repeat:categories><a href="__href__">__title__</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;</bx_repeat:categories>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
<bx_text:_articles_txt_tags />: <bx_repeat:tags><a href="__href__">__title__</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;</bx_repeat:tags>
</div>
<div class="arl-text__class__">__content__</div>

Add Google code:

__date__&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
<bx_text:_articles_txt_comments />: __comments__&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
<!-- google_ad_section_start -->
<bx_text:_articles_txt_categories />: <bx_repeat:categories><a href="__href__">__title__</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;</bx_repeat:categories>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
<bx_text:_articles_txt_tags />: <bx_repeat:tags><a href="__href__">__title__</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;</bx_repeat:tags>
</div>
<div class="arl-text__class__">__content__</div>
<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

Example with Dolphin 7 Blogs
/modules/boonex/blogs/templates/base/blogpost_unit.html

Find:

<div class="title">
__post_caption__
</div>
<div class="clear_both"></div>
<div class="fr_small_gray_centered">
__author__
<span class="margined10">
<span>__post_date__</span>
</span>
<span class="margined10">
<span>__comments_count__ <bx_text:_comments /></span>
</span>
<span class="margined10">
<bx_text:_Categories />: __all_categories__
</span>
<bx_text:_Tags />: __post_tags__
</div>
<div class="clear_both"></div>
<div class="blog_text__friend_style__">
__post_picture2__
__post_description__
</div>

Add Google code:

<div class="title">
<!-- google_ad_section_start -->
__post_caption__
</div>
<div class="clear_both"></div>
<div class="fr_small_gray_centered">
__author__
<span class="margined10">
<span>__post_date__</span>
</span>
<span class="margined10">
<span>__comments_count__ <bx_text:_comments /></span>
</span>
<span class="margined10">
<bx_text:_Categories />: __all_categories__
</span>
<bx_text:_Tags />: __post_tags__
</div>
<div class="clear_both"></div>
<div class="blog_text__friend_style__">
__post_picture2__
__post_description__
</div>
<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

You could add the Google code to many other areas of Dolphin 7, and/or even use the ignore code in a variety of locations.

Note:
Be sure to empty or clear the Dolphin 7 template cache in your administration. After doing so you can refresh an article or blog post, view page source and verify the code placement is where you want it.
