Dolphin 7.0.1 Milestone

If you have been waiting for some kind of bug fix in particular while we continue waiting for the Dolphin 7.0.1 update / patch you might find what you are looking for at Boonex Trac. As the Boonex team continues updating and fixing tickets the updated files are available for download. However, the one you might be looking for may not be exactly easy to find. It takes some exploring and determination, but there are a number of fixes available now that will be included in the Dolphin 7.0.1 update / patch.

If you are not concerned or would rather wait for the complete full package update keep watching the progress of 7.0.1 at Boonex trac. If there is something in particular you really want or need now, there is a good chance that you might find what you are looking for.

I really don't have time for all of them, but I had a couple of things I wanted to fix. One of them is related to my news and tutorial / article posts. If you make a blog or article post that contains a link that you want to open in a new window using the target=_blank attribute the current Dolphin 7.0.0 strips the target attribute / code forcing it to open in the same window instead. For some it's not that bothersome, but I like to use it fairly frequently. It is possible to manually add the code by editing the database itself, but it's rather annoying and time-consuming. So although this one is fairly simple, it saves me a lot of time.

You can get this one here:
utils.inc.php - http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/browser/trunk/inc/utils.inc.php?rev=13734

At the bottom of the page you will find the Download in other formats: "Original Format" link which will allow you to download the full php file.

After you have it you need to replace /inc/utils.inc.php with the newly downloaded one. Then, the target="_blank" attribute will no longer we stripped from things like new, articles, etc. You may need to adjust your security impact settings in Dolphin Administration too. Hopefully the official update / patch will also address the blogs.

The other one I was after was the blog rss feeds button/link does not work right in the current Dolphin 7.0.0. This one might not be a big deal or real important fix for most people, but I do use rss fairly often and I needed it to work like it was intended.

You can find this fix here:
BxBlogsModule.php - http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/browser/trunk/modules/boonex/blogs/classes/BxBlogsModule.php?rev=13632

At the bottom of this page you will find the Download in other formats: "Original Format" link, which once again you can download the full php file.

It would then go in /modules/boonex/blogs/classes/BxBlogsModule.php. After uploading and overwriting the original 7.0.0 file version with this one the blogs rss feed/link will work the way it was intended.

There are quite a few other fixes that have been completed already. If you are looking for something in particular you can explore this link:
http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/roadmap and view the Closed tickets and Active tickets for Milestone 7.0.1

Also you can explore:

Just start looking around and do some searching in the various Boonex Trac links / area of the site.

If you are not sure what you are after, it might be better to wait for the complete and official update.
