December 2011 Uptime Report

If you haven't heard of the free uptime monitoring by Pingdom definitely check it out sometime. It has been a great way to monitor my uptime and one of the few for free that will let you set monitoring checks or intervals as low as every one minute. I don't think I really need to have a check every one minute, but it would provide additional accuracy at that rate. I set mine to check every 5 minutes, which still provides very good accuracy.

Incidentally Pingdom has a great online test to check your website load time. It seems to rotate between a New York USA, Dallas Texas USA, and Amsterdam Netherlands locations. One time you will get New York, and the next you might get Amsterdam. If your hosts server is located in the U.S. then your page load times will likely be a little better than if you get the Amsterdam location. So keep that in mind when testing. Try it a couple of times to see if you get a different datacenter and results.

December 2011 I had 100% uptime with 0 outages. Response time was 1156 ms, which is an average of the multiple checks from multiple locations around the world. I have certainly been pleased with the uptime I have experienced when compared to other hosts I have dealt with over the years.
