A while back I wrote an article titled: YouTube Videos are They Worth the Effort, which resulted in some pretty decent traffic. I guess anything surrounding YouTube is a hot topic right now.
I have been telling myself that I really need to do more with YouTube. Hopefully this year will be the year I make that happen, and after seeing a decent flow of visitors from that single post I keep telling myself to get it done.
The only drawback I see with creating and sharing videos on YouTube is that it can take a considerable amount of time to produce something decent and worth posting.
I used to spend a lot of time creating and editing videos, but that was years ago. Computers were much slower back then, and it took way too long to produce something decent.
Now that computers and technology have a little more horsepower I am hoping to get back into making videos again.
I have written a lot of Boonex Dolphin Tutorials over the years that I have posted on the main part of this site. I couldn’t even count the number of hours I have put into them. Probably upwards of hundreds of hours, and more likely into the thousands of hours.
I have also put in hundreds of hours if not thousands into assorted hosting, database, maintenance, and related web server types of things, which I would like to continue doing.
So after all of that I am not sure if I should jump into YouTube video tutorials or not. It’s mostly about whether or not I will have enough time to take on another project like this more than anything that concerns me. I am going to give it ago and see what happens.

I am kind of picky when it comes to making videos, which is why it seems to take me so long to make one. I spend hours editing and cleaning up audio and video tracks. I know some people can whip out a video in less than an hour, which is great. They probably have put in a lot more time making videos than I have, or they aren’t as picky as I am.
Video is definitely the popular thing right now. I just wish I could create a decent video in the same time it takes me to make a text post or tutorial. Right now I would say it’s 5 to 1 or even 10 to 1. I know for certain I could do at least 5 text post in the same time it takes to make 1 decent video, and probably closer to 10.
The plus side is that YouTube is a good source for additional exposure and traffic. So I figure why not. I have nothing to lose except for my time.
I think I am going to shoot for one or two videos per month. I don’t want to commit to a large number because I have a feeling I would start neglecting my other projects, sites, and posts.

You are right DialMe. We are naturally accept video presentation of any message more quickly than image and text. Our TV’s programs and ads are best example of it. So, You are in right way, keep it up.
The fact is YouTube is the second largest search engine. More searches happen in YouTube that Bing or Yahoo. And for some teens it’s the first choice of search as well. Plus people will always prefer visuals over text. As it gets easier and easier to create videos more will turn to YouTube so getting there early is always and advantage.

Interesting share .
Videos are inarguably more enticing over text . I wish creating videos gets really simple so that I could also test my skills .
I enjoy making tutorial videos. I just with they weren’t so time-consuming to produce. I know some people can make them pretty fast. I am kind of a stickler for quality though. I spend a lot of time editing. Probably more than I should. There are some great tools out there that can help you make a nice video. Hopefully I will have more posts about this in the near future.
Having a video on Youtube means it’s more likely to appear on tops of searches concerning the relevant topic because Google is the largest search engine. I believe Youtube videos rock! You should go on making them too
The title itself made me smile. Imagine how happy I was reading something as informative as this post of yours. And I have you to thank!
Lovely share! Videos are actually more interesting than plain texts. It adds beauty to your post and it will be more understandable for your audience to watch. Creating videos take time though because of editing, finishing touches, and etc. But, I agree with you that there’s nothing to lose but time. If you get amazing traffic results, then you’ll realize that the video making process time is worth it.
very unique share!! what i think this is the time where people love to watch good video because video is most entertaing in today’s life and having video in YouTube increase over popularity

YouTube can certainly be entertaining that’s for sure. There are a lot of great videos over there. Sometimes you need to do a little searching, but they have so many you can usually find what you are looking for.
I am addicted with watching Youtube videos, well I admit it and Im proud of it. Well, Youtube does not really consume our time but it helps our lives in a way or two.
I’ve had a niggle since infographics went huge last year that video is going to be the next big viral thing. People love to share and engage in stuff easily digestable, like pictures of cats, video doesnt require a huge amount of attention, and nowadays most people already enjoy watching videos on their pc, unlike when it was in its infancy.

People love watching video that is for sure. It is kind of funny how a thirty second to one minute YouTube video with an animal or pet can draw so many views. I almost wish I had a crazy goofy cat.
Indeed, videos are very popular right now. Actually, it is a very effective marketing tool for many. One of the positives of creating a video is it has a huge impact to the audience. However, the only downside that I see in making videos is it is time consuming.
