How to Gain Massive Twitter Followers

Tweet about this on TwitterShare on FacebookShare on Google+Share on LinkedIn

TwiendsIt seems like everyone is looking for Twitter followers and Tweets. Facebook likes and fans. Even Google Plus 1’s these days. Everywhere you go you are reminded to follow us on Twitter, like us on Facebook, and plus 1 something. Social media sharing and buttons are everywhere, and I can’t remember the last site I visited that didn’t have them.

If you have been trying to increase your Twitter followers the following information might be what you have been looking for.

Get tons of followers with Twiends
You can get massive amounts of followers from Twiends pretty easy. You earn seeds for following others which you use to gain followers of your own. You start with 25 seeds and receive 10 seeds per day just for logging in. I wouldn’t consider the followers to be targeted, high quality, or of interest in what you have to offer. Nonetheless, if you are just getting started with Twitter or want to boost your follower count this site will definitely do it.

Be sure to check your account settings/follower options for tighter restrictions. They do not have very many options that you can set, but tightening them up will help reduce your drop off rate.

I set mine to:
Seeds: Offer 2 seeds when someone follows you
Drop Rate: Allow those with the lowest drop rates
Membership Length: Allow those who joined over 2 days ago
And I have checked: Only allow people in the United States to follow you
Censorship: I have checked both
Follow Back: I have unchecked Follow back those who follow me
Daily budget: (beta) I have not bought any seeds to worry about this one.

Offering 2 seeds is the default setting and seems to get me plenty of followers. The drop rate is fairly high even with the lowest drop rate setting. Member length you can only set to a maximum of 2 days, which is a little on the low side. I wish it were possible to set this one to a week or more.

I am experimenting with the “Only allow people in the United States” setting. I did get quite a few followers from other countries, which I don’t have a problem with. However, many of them were in another language and I just had no idea what they were posting. I am going to test out this setting for a week or so to see what happens. If you live in Canada I am assuming you would probably see only allow people in Canada to follow you, but that one I can’t test out or say for sure.

The censorship options do not stop or prevent everything, but I prefer to keep them on and hopefully they catch a few. I do not want to automatically follow back users who have followed me. I would rather check them out myself to make sure I really want to follow them.

If you were to buy Seeds from Twiends you might want to use the Daily budget limit feature so you don’t use up all your seeds to fast.

Twiends is a good place to get a lot of followers in a short amount of time even without buying seeds. There are users that offer more than the default 2 seeds, and they have featured users that offer more seeds. You can find users that offer 3 to 9 seeds for following them. What you could do is follow two members that offer 7 seeds for a total of 14. Then you turn those 14 into 7 followers. Basically following 2 can get you 7 in return providing they don’t unfollow you.

The drawbacks:
Even with the restrictions or settings in place there is no way to prevent someone from following you to earn seeds, and unfollowing you 2 seconds later. Most of what I have observed is people will follow you to earn seeds and hope that you will follow them back. I wouldn’t expect to build very many quality relationships or leads from Twiends, but you never know.

Twiends is totally free and a good place to start if you are just getting started or if you are looking to gain followers. I can’t guarantee that they will continue following you. Following and unfollowing is a natural process and that is just the way it is. For free you really can’t complain, and Twiends is definitely something to check out.

What about all the unfollowers

Undoubtedly you will get a lot of people that unfollow you partially because of your settings, and partially because that’s just life. I do not follow everyone back that follows me, but quite a few. To monitor and see who is unfollowing you or at least those that seem to be gaming the system, is use Who.Unfollowed.Me. is a very simple and easy to use site. You just sign in with your Twitter account and instantly see who unfollowed you. I would use something like this if you follow users back on Twiends because it will help you weed out the unfollowers.

If someone unfollows you it will tell who they are. If you happened to be following them you can simply click the (X) on the right and you will automatically unfollow them.

Users without an (X) are those that unfollowed you, but you were not following.

Who Unfollowed Me also includes: unfollower history, who’s not following me back, and who I’m not following back feature.

It is a very simple and basic tool, and it works great. I do not need a complex or confusing tool to simply unfollow Twitter users.

I have heard, and mentioned on several occasions. I haven’t used either of these two, but there are obviously others besides out there that you could look into.

      Hey Peter,
I hear about people getting suspended on Twitter for aggressive following and unfollowing. I have never had a problem, but I don’t go on a big following spree. I also hear about people getting into trouble for sending spam direct messages.

It is pretty easy to get followers with Twiends. You need to play with the restriction settings a bit to find what works for you. I let the followers build up, and then follow some back at different times of the day. Usually within 24-48 hours is when most drop offs seem to occur. Like I mentioned though, since it’s a point system (seeds) the quality of followers isn’t the greatest, but for someone trying to build followers it’s a good way to get started.

    Hi DialMe,

I’m aware about “Twiends” but didn’t use it. Instead I try to follow manually so that I can follow relatively more targeted followers. To check people who’re not following me I use “” and I really love it.

Sounds like you have a good plan. Target followers and traffic is preferred. Twiends isn’t totally automated or cheating. You can see and view their Twitter information and do some sorting by interests and categories type of thing. So you can use it to find people with similar interests, and there are a lot of users. It is difficult to control who follows you even without something like Twiends. I get some strange followers every now and then. Tweepi is a great resource too. I have been using it for quite a while now, and you can’t go wrong with that one.

This sounds like an excellent way to gain numbers. But is there any advantage to have large numbers of non-targeted followers, as opposed to smaller number of targeted followers? I would think the latter is preferably because they are more likely to engage socially with your site.

      Hey Leo,

Some people like the numbers game whether it’s page or alexa rank, facebook likes, twitter followers, you name it they want more. This would definitely help those that want more. I don’t see it as a long term commitment myself. It might come in hand for someone that has say 50-100 followers or less that would like to boost their numbers too. Sometimes it is difficult to get followers in the beginning. Like you I would still prefer targeted followers that are generally interested.

Is a funny thing this Twitter, and so are the other similar social networks. Everybody wants to be followed and nobody cares what the other has to say 🙂
I didn’t know about Twiends, but I now about sites such socialclerks dot com.
You use an account to follow some, you get some “coins” in return, then you use that coins to be followed on your other (main) account 🙂
The problem is, that all these followers are totally untargeted followers, and as you said they can unfollow you at anytime.

I don’t think Twitter is that Valuable. It can be helpful, but the majority of what I see really isn’t that helpful. How valuable can a 140 character or less post be? Some people say they use it to contact people or businesses, but most of the people I know on Twitter don’t monitor or get half of those. The other thing is everyone wants to be heard on Twitter, but nobody is listening.

I totally agree. Even though I know there is a tiny chance to market with success anything on twitter, I bought a gig on Fiverr (just to test my opinion about Twitter), from a person that had 270K followers. My link was posted 7 days in a row, I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Guess what? I didn’t get 1 single person to follow me. I don’t even think that anyone had actually seen my advert, among the other hundreds of tweets 🙂
