GoogleIt appears as though there was a Google Pagerank on August 2nd/3rd depending on where in the world you happen to live.

If I remember right the last major update was back in May 2012. This mean almost exactly 3 months has gone by since then. Some people tend to expect it to happen every 3 months, but it does vary. I can recall a few 4, 6, and even a 9 month lapse in updates over the years.

As I suspected a number of webmaster forums and message boards lit up shortly after this Google update. I don’t know how they can be so quick to post something about it. I guess because some of them have so many active members someone is bound to notice, or they have a keen eye.

At any rate if you follow or are interested in Google Pagerank Updates you might check your homepage and internal pages to see if you were rewarded, slapped, or stayed roughly the same. There are always the ups and downs when it comes to Pagerank. Some people are extremely happy and excited, while others are a little disappointed.

There has been a lot of talk on the internet lately about how SEO is dying, and Google Pagerank doesn’t matter as much as it used to. I believe SEO is always changing, but I don’t see it dying any time soon. I would agree that Pagerank isn’t as important as it once was, but it is still nice to see your site increase.

I haven’t followed it as much as I have in the past. I have been busy working on projects and I had a few set backs that I am trying to get squared away. Once I get caught up I will have more time for Google, SEO, and other online time.

I hope Google was nice to you this time around, and gave your site a little bump in the toolbar meter!
